Glenna Holweger, age 93

Glenna Holweger, age 93 of East Grand Forks, MN, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 9th, 2023.

Glenna J. Holweger was born on September 11, 1929 in Grand Forks, ND the daughter of Cecil and Hazel (Lemont) Stepanek. Glenna grew up in Grand Forks, ND and graduated from Grand Forks Central High School. On December 30, 1949 she was united in marriage to Donald Holweger at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Grand Forks, ND. Glenna worked as a cook for Crestwood Elementary School in East Grand Forks for 35 years. Glenna and Don belonged to the Eagles Lodge #350 in which they were very active members and were both inducted into the Minnesota Eagles Aerie Hall of Fame. They truly enjoyed traveling the United States and Mexico in their motorhome.

Family members who survive Glenna include her children, Kathy (Rick) Lee of Fargo, ND, Michael (Bonnie) Holweger of Grand Forks, ND and Cynthia Holweger of Bozeman, MT; 6 granddaughters, Shawnna, Kelly, Holly, Jodi, Jill and Erica Ann; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Lippert of Orlando, FL, Betty Kennedy of Georgetown, TX, Marlys (Terry) Bjorgo of Bollingbrook, IL and Judy (Evertt) Plata of Lake Havasu, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald on July 21, 2013; siblings, Lois Eider, Dick Stepanek, Alan Stepanek, Cecil Stepanek and Kenny Milton Stepanek.

Funeral was held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Zion United Methodist Church in Grand Forks, ND. Interment is at Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND in the spring of 2023.
