Daniel Foster, 68

July 17, 2026

Daniel Foster, 68, of West Fargo, North Dakota, passed away in his home, surrounded by his loving family on July 13, 2026.

Daniel “Mark” Markus Foster was born on May 3, 1958, to Robert and Phyllis (Johnson) Foster. Dan was born in Grand Forks, ND and raised in East Grand Forks, MN alongside his brother and sisters. Dan was known to many as a person you could rely on and an incredibly dedicated and hard-working man. He pursued several careers, leaving a positive mark everywhere he worked, including at Pillsbury, the Grand Forks Correctional Center, Philadelphia Macaroni Company, and the West Fargo Post Office. After retirement, he couldn’t stop working and chose to drive for Doyle’s Cab, where he quickly became one of their most dedicated drivers.

Outside of work, Dan enjoyed watching the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars, Vikings Football, Minnesota Wild Hockey, and the Minnesota Twins. He also enjoyed fishing and bowling. With a sweet tooth like no-other, Dan made sure that there was never a shortage of cookies, and snacks around and became quite the baker himself. Above all, he loved watching his grandkids play hockey and soccer and attended as many school events as he could. We can’t forget about Papa’s Mac and Cheese making skill either!

Dan was blessed with his family and was a devoted husband and father. When his children were growing up, he never missed a game or event. He loved supporting his family and cheering them on. He shared his love freely and was loved dearly in return.

In his last years of life, and just as he was starting his battle with cancer, God sent him a special gift in the form of a loyal sidekick; Bingo the pug, who was smitten by Dan instantly. They would spend days on the couch together, with Bingo lifting Dan’s spirits and showering him with love to the very end.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Phyllis Foster; sister, Deborah Hornick; brother, Donald Foster; and father-in-law, Dennis Miller.

He is survived by his wife, Faye Foster; son, Travis (Leah) Foster; daughter, Ashley (David) Enkelaar; grandchildren, Elliott Foster, Hendrix Enkelaar, Sawyer Enkelaar, Harrison Enkelaar; sister, Dawn Marie Dill; sisters-in-law, Jennifer (Tim) Nygaard, Linda (Leilyn) Honeyman, Allison Israelson; brother-in-law, Jarred (Ashley) Miller; mother-in-law, Veronica Miller; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs, Rainey and Bingo.

In memory of Daniel, memorial gifts are suggested in lieu of flowers.
