Evelyn Kroke, 77

Evelyn Kroke, age 77 of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed away at home on Thursday, July 2, 2026. 

Evelyn Rowell was born on May 14, 1949, in Hazlehurst, Georgia, to parents, Ivey & Lola (Lewis) Rowell. She attended Coffee County High School in Douglas, Georgia. On September 14, 1968, Evelyn was united in marriage to Steven Kroke in Mayport, Florida. They moved up to the Grand Forks Area, where Evelyn worked at Altru Hospital as an equipment technician for 32 years before retiring. Evelyn was fiercely proud of her family and being from Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivey & Lola Lewis; and siblings, Carlton Rowell, Hilton Rowell, Helen McKinnon, Wilton Rowell, Marguerite Vickers, and Trellis Moore.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Steven Kroke; sons, Steven “Eric” (Tammy) Kroke of Wyndmere, ND and Scott Michael Kroke of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Christie Johnson, Cody Simonson, Joshua Kroke, Abigail (Stephen Miller) Kroke, Jeremy Kroke, Matthew Kroke, Emily (Shane) Klimek, and Zachary Kroke; great-grandchildren, Mason Boner, Vincent Hambrick, Eden Klimek, Ryder Klimek, and Nolan Miller; siblings, Roger (Marilyn) Rowell of Jacksonville, FL, Jeanie Cronin of Guyton, GA, and Ronnie Morgan of Clyo, GA; special brother-in-law, Jimmy Moore; brothers-in-law, Keith Kroke, Robert Kroke, and Jerome (Gail) Kroke; sisters-in-law, Elaine Berdal, Mary (John) Larson, Lenore Kroke, Carol (Steve) Lovejoy, Betty Kroke, Trisha Kroke, and Kathy Kroke; special nieces, Beth Walt, Jan Thurston, and Nell Rowell Thompson; and many more nieces & nephews.

VISITATION at 10:00 AM, with MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 200 3rd Street NW, East Grand Forks. Service will be livestreamed on Evelyn's obituary page at www.dandahlfuneralhome.com. INTERMENT at Michigan Cemetery in Michigan, North Dakota.
