Rose Ann Plutowski, 88, of East Grand Forks, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.
Rose Ann Breidenbach was born Sept. 23, 1937 on her grandparents farm in rural Hatton, ND to Joseph and Ethel (Blaufuss) Breidenbach. She was the oldest of eleven children and attended country school at Michigan 86. She then attended boarding school at Mount Saint Benedict in Crookston, graduating in 1955. On October 8, 1957, Rose Ann married Raymond Plutowski and together they made their home in East Grand Forks and were blessed with six children. Rose Ann was a self-proclaimed homemaker, the career she excelled at and took most pride in, but also worked as a cake decorator at Charlie’s Bakery and worked sewing draperies at Grand Forks Glass & Paint. She later opened her own business Draperies Plus and worked seasonally at Crystal Sugar for many years.
Rose Ann is survived by her six children, Elaine Grenier, Carol (Fred) Fox, Alan (Christy) Plutowski, Susan (Will) Fiemann, Joan (David) Gossell and Nancy (Robb) Runyon; siblings Jeannine Lazur, Raymond Breidenbach, Mary Kay Ginther, Jo Noel, Greg (Lori) Breidenbach, Rita (Rick) Lang, Bernadette Fischer and Paul (Judy) Breidenbach; sisters-in-law Shirlene and Diane Breidenbach; 17 Grandchildren and 19 Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Ethel Breidenbach, husband Raymond Plutowski, infant daughter Mary Ann Plutowski, brothers John and David Breidenbach, son-in-law John Grenier; and in-laws Henry Lazur, Fred Ginther, Pat Breidenbach and Dan Fischer.
VISITATION: 4:00-5:30 PM, Sunday, January 25, 2026 at Dahl Funeral Home, 2029 Central Ave. NW, East Grand Forks, MN 56721 followed by a PRAYER SERVICE at 5:30 PM.
MASS OF CHRISTIAN: 11:30 AM, Monday, January 26, 2026 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 200 3rd St. NW, East Grand Forks with additional Visitation one hour before. Services will be live streamed on Rose Ann’s page at www.dandahlfuneralhome.com.
INTERMENT: Resurrection Cemetery in East Grand Forks, MN in the Spring.
