December 22, 2025

Carole Watt, age 84 of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed away surrounded by loved ones on December 18, 2025 at Valley Senior Living in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Carole Irene Jonasson, age 84, was born on January 27, 1941, to George and Olive (Johnson) Jonasson. She graduated from Milton High School in 1959 and married the love of her life, Gary Watt, on June 11, 1960.
Carole was a proud Icelander and a woman of many talents. She was especially known for her skill as a seamstress and her deep love of farming. She was an avid gardener who took great pride in her beautiful flower gardens. She also enjoyed driving truck during harvest, embracing the hard work and independence that came with it. Carole will also be remembered for her homemade pickles and decorative cakes, and making sure that her grandkids' holidays and birthdays included those things. Her creativity and patience shone brightest in her role as a grandmother — her grandchildren will forever cherish the handmade “Grandma pants” and blankets with silk borders that wrapped them in her love.
She is survived by her son, Shayne (Karen) Watt; daughter, Raeann (Chad) Beauchamp; grandchildren, Cory Watt, Kyle Watt, Katie Watt, Alex Beauchamp, and Annika Beauchamp; siblings, Jim (Linda) Jonasson, Georgia (Bob) Sitzman, Barb Melby, Ron (Karyn) Jonasson, Linda (Otto) Sperling, Warren (Debby) Jonasson, and Dan Jonasson; sisters-in-law, Leona McCleod and Marlene (Tom) Wolter.
Carole was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Watt; parents, George and Olive Jonasson; brother, Wayne Jonasson; brother-in-law, Jerry Melby; sisters-in-law, Ardelle (Percy) Throndset and Carole Johnson; and nephew, Brannon Sperling.
