Linda Cariveau, 77

Linda Cariveau, 77 of East Grand Forks, MN, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at the Valley Senior Living TCU, in Grand Forks, ND.

Linda Diane Folstrom was born October 19, 1948, in Grand Forks to John and Effie (Griggs) Folstrom. On July 23, 1967 Linda married Paul Cariveau in East Grand Forks, where they made their home, raised three children, and operated their business Paul Cariveau Painting together. She also worked part-time at White Mart. After Paul’s passing, she resided at the Good Samaritan Society for many years where she developed many friendships. Linda found joy in being around her family, playing cards with her friends (Terry) at Good Sam, embroidering, gardening and going to the casino. She had a great sense of humor and a quick wit.

She is survived by her three children Marty (Donna) Cariveau, Kari (Lance) Riel, Billy Cariveau (Anna Sjol and daughter Jolene); six grandchildren Nicole (Caleb) Webster, Hailey Cariveau, Casey and Leah Riel, Kelsey Cariveau and Jaelynn (Frank) Wippler; three great-grandchildren Sophie, Annabelle and Layla Webster; sisters, Phyllis (David) Walbridge, Judy (Richard) Yanish, Susan (Ronald) Bursch, Sandy (Daniel) Riedemann, Debbie (Bob) Nelson, Cindy (Scott) Hegg; sister-in-law Bonnie (Bernie) Uran; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Paul Cariveau, mother Effie Folstrom Nelson, father John B. Folstrom, step-father Kenny Nelson and In-Laws Turene (Vern) Malafa.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 11:00 AM, Monday, November 10, 2025 at the Dahl Funeral Home, 2029 Central Ave. NW, East Grand Forks, MN 56721. Service will be live-streamed on Linda’s page at www.dandahlfuneralhome.com.

VISITATION: One hour prior to the service at Dahl Funeral Home.

INURNMENT: Resurrection Cemetery in East Grand Forks, MN, immediately following the memorials service.
