The East Grand Forks seventh-grade football team completed an undefeated season, finishing 7-0 without allowing a single point. The Green Wave outscored their opponents 200-0.
Coach Blake Farder, who played in the Green Wave program 13 years ago, help lead the team this fall. Farder credited the players’ focus and consistency throughout the season. “We followed our non-negotiables every day in practice,” he said. “Those were the little things we could control to make ourselves better.”
The season also carried personal meaning for Farder, who had the opportunity to coach his younger brother, Evan, on the team. “This season was special not only because of what we were able to accomplish, but because I got to share it with my baby brother,” he said.
Farder also acknowledged longtime East Grand Forks coach Jim Enright, who recently concluded his coaching career. “I played for Coach Enright 13 years ago, so that speaks to his longevity and dedication to the program,” Farder said. “I’m glad we sent him out the right way.”
The Green Wave coaching staff included Enright and Coach Johnson. Farder said he was proud of the team’s drive, discipline, and intensity throughout the season and is excited to see what the players achieve in the years ahead.
