Linda Boman, 58

September 30, 2025

Linda Boman, 58, of East Grand Forks, MN, passed away on Thursday evening, September 25, 2025, in Altru Hospital of Grand Forks.
Born on December 2, 1966, to Gladden and Eileen (Haugen) Kollin, Linda was raised in Alvarado, Minnesota, where she first met the love of her life, Troy Boman. Linda made the first move on his 13th birthday by delivering an angel food cake (with fluffy white frosting) to him in the grain truck. Despite the dust on it, Troy Boman was hooked for the next 45 years. Linda graduated from high school in 1985 and married Troy on June 17, 1989. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree and built a successful career as a corporate accountant at AE2S. But her proudest title was always “Mom.” To her four children, she was everything—an unwavering source of support, a fierce advocate, and a gentle, attentive listener. To their friends, she was the “fun mom,” and sometimes just “mom,” stepping into the role for anyone who needed her. Linda’s love extended deeply to her grandchildren, for whom she would do anything. Whether it meant traveling cross-country or rearranging her schedule, she showed up—fully, joyfully, and without hesitation. Her presence was a gift, and her smile often entered the room before she did, lighting it up with her bright green eyes and contagious positivity.
Her final perfect day came on March 2: a Sunday spent singing in the church choir, playing with her grandkids, laughing with Troy and her children, and building a living room fort—just because. It was a day that captured everything Linda loved most.
Though the months that followed were marked by struggle, they were also filled with grace. Linda’s family witnessed an overwhelming outpouring of love and support from the many lives she had touched.
Linda leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and joy. She is survived by her husband who has loved her since childhood and always will, Troy; children, Alison (Ethan) Sudtelgte, Luke (Rachael) Boman, Megan (Ethan) Kringlen; and Brooke Boman; six grandchildren, Elliott and Eva, Carson and Bristol, and Harvey and Hayes; siblings, Lona (Gary) Spicer, Jody (Maurice) Lind, Jeanne Boman, and Larry (Jean) Kollin; Troy's family members; and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladden and Eileen; and her in-laws, Alvin and Eva Boman.
