Steven Berg, age 69, resident of East Grand Forks, ND, died on April 27, 2024, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Steven John Berg was born on April 20, 1955, in Cavalier, North Dakota to Gilbert and Hazel (Sandberg) Berg. He pursued his education in Cavalier and graduated with the Class of 1973 before briefly attending NDSU. However, he soon realized that his true calling lay elsewhere, leading him to a successful career as a Mason in the construction field. Steve’s journey in the construction industry was marked by his skill and passion for meticulous work as a master mason over many years. His commitment to craftsmanship shone through in every project he undertook, leaving a lasting mark on the places he worked on.

Outside of work, Steve found solace and joy in nature. His love for the outdoors was profound, evident in his pursuits of fishing, hunting, and target shooting at the Grand Forks Gun Club. The sparkle in his eyes after a successful catch or hunt was a testament to his happiness in those moments. Steve's sense of community extended beyond his professional and recreational activities. He was honored to be a lifetime member of the Walhalla Fire Department where he dedicated his time and efforts selflessly.

Steve is survived by cherished memories shared with friends and colleagues who admired his dedication and passion for his work. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In this time of sorrow, we remember Steve Berg for his hard work, talent, and warm spirit that touched many lives. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm at Amundson Funeral Home on Saturday, June 22, 2024. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at Amundson Funeral Home.

Steve was preceded in death by his loving parents, Gilbert and Hazel Berg. May he rest in peace knowing that he made a significant impact on those around him through his generosity and dedication.
