Barbara Louise (Seng) Larson, 87
Barbara Louise (Seng) Larson, 87, entered into rest on March 23, 2024 in Albertville, MN after a battle
with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born on February 23, 1937 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Cleon (Curly)
Florian LaFleur and Lucille Francis Olson. Raised by her mother and beloved adoptive father, David John
Seng. Barbara grew up in Karlstad, MN. She graduated from Karlstad High School in 1955 and then
earned a teaching degree from NDSU in Fargo. In 1958, Barbara married her high school sweetheart,
Darryl McLean Larson. Barbara and Darryl settled in Fisher, Minnesota where they raised their family.
Barbara touched many lives as a dedicated educator, teaching Home Economics at Fisher High School
for many years and later substitute teaching in Edina where she and Darryl lived after retirement. As a
devout Christian, loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother. She lived her life with joy,
hospitality and unconditional love for others. She was a friend to all and blessed every life she touched.
She enjoyed cooking and sewing, appreciated beautiful clothing and jewelry and was always ready to
shop for bargains at “a giveaway price”.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Darryl, her parents, her brother,Patrick
Seng, and sisters-in-law-Camille Lorbiecki and Vangie Carlson, brothers-in-law Douglas “Buddy” Thun,
Carlyle Larson, and Lawrence Lorbiecki. She is survived by her son Greg (Lisa) Larson, Elk Point, SD and
their sons Lukas and Noah; daughter Lisa (Andrew) Hanson, Medina, MN and their daughters Amanda
(Devon) Hartman and Aspen; and daughter Ann (Jeff) Kvant, St. Michael, MN and their children Adam,Hannah, Claire and Emma;
sisters: Susan (Mark) Kolstad, Margaret “Peggy” (Jay) Collins and Jennifer
(Dan) Lee and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dear friend and sister-in-law, June
Seng.
In accordance with her wishes, a private celebration of life will be held at a future date. She will be
interred with her husband at Fort Snelling.
