Lois Lindquist, 94

Lois Lindquist, age 94 of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Valley Senior Living in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Lois Ann Peterson was born on April 30, 1929 in Kennedy, Minnesota to Wilfred & Helena (Asleson) Peterson. She grew up in Kennedy and graduated from Kennedy High School. Lois attended 1 semester at Bemidji State before moving back home. On September 4, 1948 Lois was united in marriage to Ancel Lindquist. They lived in Kennedy before moving to East Grand Forks in 1962. Lois & Ancel became members of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and had been members ever since. She was very active in the church and involved in bible study, Meals On Wheels, and many other activities. Lois worked as a bookkeeper & receptionist for Johnson Iron and Machine, and she retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota.

Lois was a proud homemaker. She was an excellent baker, renowned for her cookies (especially Christmas cookies), buns, and other homemade delights. Lois enjoyed keeping her hands busy with quilting, knitting, sewing, cross stitching, word puzzles, and reading. Lois loved lake-life; she would go up to the family cabin on Lake of the Woods with her dad fishing, and over the years Lois continued to ensure that her family spent plenty of time at the cabin making memories.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Helena & Wilfred Peterson; step-mother, Georgia (Baker) Peterson; husband, Ancel Lindquist; and sisters, Audrey (Richard) Oakman and Mavis Osmundson.

Lois is survived by her sons, Wilfred (Toni) Lindquist, John (Kathi) Lindquist, and Daniel (Patsy) Lindquist; grandchildren, Christopher Lindquist, Bradley (Erin) Lindquist, Scott (Amanda) Lindquist, Timothy (Kelsey) Lindquist, Matthew (Kaleah) Lindquist, and Rachael (Dallas Aaker) Lindquist; and great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Henry, Sylvia, Zayne, and Kanyon.

FUNERAL SERVICE is 11:00am on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1515 5th Avenue NW, East Grand Forks, Minnesota, with VISITATION 1 hour prior. Service will be livestreamed on the church’s website at: www.oslcegf.org -and- on the church’s Facebook page at: www.facebook.com/OSLCEGF

INTERMENT at Resurrection Cemetery in East Grand Forks.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church or to Valley Senior Living.
