Dean Ralph Burton, 78

Dean Ralph Burton, 78, of East Grand Forks, MN passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at home surrounded by family.

Dean Burton was born on April 28, 1945, the son of Ralph and Marion (Deziel) Burton. He grew up in East Grand Forks MN. Dean started his career at a young age as a carry-out boy at Piggly Wiggly where he met the love of his life Donna (Vonasek) delivering eggs to the store. Dean and Donna were married on October 27, 1967, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Tabor, MN. They made their home in East Grand Forks MN. Dean was a member of the National Guard from 1967-1970. He also held jobs as an electrician and carpet layer throughout his life. He was a member of the Eagles and American Legion.

Dean loved snowmobiling and camping. He was a member of the Red River Valley Snowmobile Club. Over the years he took many fun trips with his family and friends. Dean was a loving grandfather who loved to spend time with all his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Donna Burton of East Grand Forks; Children Lynne (Jon) Heffernan of East Grand Forks, Shelly (Brian) Walsh of Badger, MN and Kim (Nate) Garske of Fargo, ND and 11 grandchildren, Emily (Gunnar), Cole, Katie, Grace (Jayden), Aidan, Steele, Finn, Embry, Irelan, Burton, Callen, and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Marion Burton; brother Dale (Sherry) Burton.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 AM on Monday, January 22, 2024 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 200 3rd St. NW, East Grand Forks, MN.

Visitation: 1 Hour Prior Funeral Mass on Monday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Inurnment: Resurrection Cemetery, East Grand Forks, MN in the spring of 2024
