Lucille “Lucy” Bonlie, 82

Lucille “Lucy” Bonlie, age 82, of East Grand Forks, MN, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2023, at her daughter’s home in San Antonio, TX.

Lucille LeClerc was born on June 12, 1941, in Grafton, ND, daughter to Edward & Anna (Lussier) LeClerc. She grew up in Grafton and attended K-12 at Saint Aloysius Academy in Oakwood, ND, and then studied for a period of time at Mayville State University.

On December 17, 1966, Lucy was united in marriage to Richard Bonlie in Oakwood, ND. Soon after, they moved to East Grand Forks, MN, where they made a home there together and raised their family for the next 50+ years.

Lucy was an exceptional gardener and dedicated seamstress and was known to spend countless hours on both of these pastimes. She also enjoyed spending time with her husband Dick fishing and camping at Lake of the Woods, line dancing, and snow birding during the winter in Apache Junction, AZ. Lucy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends and loved attending mass and helping out at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Grand Forks, ND.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Bonlie; parents, Edward & Anna LeClerc; and her brother, Richard LeClerc.

Lucy is survived by her two children, her son, Art Bonlie of Houston, TX, and daughter, Michelle Beninato of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Elijah, Noah, Annaliese, Abigail, Skyla, and Kristina; and her siblings Shirley DeMers of Denver, CO, Dianne LeClerc of Denver, CO, Dennis (Kim) LeClerc of Grafton, ND, Brian LeClerc of Grafton, ND, Doris Brown of Moorhead, MN, Marian Dyk (Dennis) of Mandan, ND; and sisters-in-law, Jeannie (Gary) Anderson of Viking, MN, and Mary Raye LeClerc of Mankato, MN.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 11AM on Monday, Nov. 13, 2023, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 524 5th Ave N., Grand Forks, ND, 58203. Service will be Livestreamed on Lucy's obituary page at www.dandahlfuneralhome.com.

VISITATION: One hour prior to the service at Church.

INTERMENT: Resurrection Cemetery in East Grand Forks.
